“Maps made easy – practical & relational way of understanding teams using CAT

July 12 @ 9:00 am - 4:30 pm UTC+0

More and more teams are using the relational mapping tool from Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) to make sense of team dynamics. Using the relational lens of CAT, this workshop will consider the needs of teams, which provide health care and support services, and offer simple and easy to use maps to help them reflect more openly about unhelpful and stuck patterns. The workshop will provide an opportunity to gain skills in applying the formulation of CAT through mapping that can also be used in supervision, secondary, and tertiary consultations.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is aimed at clinicians/therapists familiar with CAT who provide supervision, secondary consultation and/or team briefings. And to those CAT practitioners who want practice at mapping outside the client/therapist space.

Presenters:

Dr Susie Black is a Clinical Psychologist working in South Wales in the UK.  She has worked in the NHS, 3rd sector and in independent practice with a wide range of presentations both directly and through supervision.  These include severe and enduring mental health, psychological disorders related to physical health conditions, and forensic settings. Susie runs South Wales CAT Practitioner Training Course. Susie is an accredited CAT practitioner, supervisor and trainer. Susie uses generic mapping in cancer services and has evaluated the generic mapping tool, presented in this workshop, to assist teams who are in caring roles.

Lee Crothers is an Occupational Therapist and Psychotherapist who offers psychotherapy, individual supervision and consultation through In Dialogue and, more recently through a project called Relate and Reflect (relateandreflect.com.au). Lee uses relational mapping to reflect with clients, supervisees and teams and has found it a valuable reflective tool for everyone.
