Introduction to Relational Supervision

Monday 14th September – all day

Lenice Murray, Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, will be running a one-day, in-person workshop throughImage by Vardan PapikyanRelate and Reflect introducing a relational approach to supervision.

Drawing on Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), the workshop explores practical ways of bringing what may be keeping people stuck into the supervision room — including the relational patterns and responses that can emerge between clients, practitioners, teams and systems.

Participants will learn accessible ways of mapping and thinking about these experiences together, creating a shared and relational conversation rather than locating the difficulty solely within the client or practitioner.

The workshop is suitable for supervisors and experienced helping professionals wanting to bring greater relational reflection into their supervision practice.

Introduction to CAT training

There are two upcoming opportunities to experience CAT in person, in Melbourne and Sydney. Introduction to CAT workshops provide an accessible introduction to CAT’s relational way of understanding difficulties, including how reciprocal roles and repeating relational patterns can help us formulate with people rather than about them. They are suitable for clinicians and helping professionals interested in bringing more relational thinking into their everyday practice.
