IN AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND
In Dialogue
In Dialogue CAT Practitioner Training Year 1 and Year 2 courses offers a comprehensive and interactive learning experience,
aligned with the ANZACAT practitioner standards for Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT). Over the course’s 50 hours of workshop and theoretical learning, participants engage in a well-rounded curriculum that includes both asynchronous and real-time learning activities:
1. Mixed-Mode Learning: The course includes a balanced mix of pre-recorded videos, webinars, reading assignments, and assessments that can be completed at the participant’s own pace.
2. Real-Time Online Seminars: Participants join online seminars where they discuss assigned readings and explore CAT principles in the context of their specific clinical environments and organisational systems.
3. Experiential Learning in Mapping Seminars: Experiential learning is a core feature, particularly through interactive mapping seminars. Here, participants engage in mapping exercises to deepen their understanding of relational dynamics within CAT.
4. Assessment Tasks and Reflective Practice: The course includes relevant assessment tasks that encourage reflective practice and critical analysis .

Orygen
Orygen’s two-year CAT practitioner training course is designed for mental health clinicians working across a range of public and private mental health settings.
The course is accredited by the Australian and New Zealand Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ANZACAT) and based on standards set by the International Cognitive Analytic Therapy Association (ICATA) for the training of CAT practitioners.
The aim of the course is for trainees to develop the competencies required to be accredited as a CAT practitioner by ANZACAT. The training is delivered by staff with experience in our Helping Young People Early (HYPE) clinical care program. The HYPE program has been using CAT in early intervention for young people with personality disorder since 1999.
